Aldo Cibic, founder of Cibicworkshop, was born in Vicenza, Italy, in 1955. In 1981, as a partner in Sottsass Associati, he was a founding member of Memphis design movementHis proiects, such as "Microrealities" (2004) and "Bethinking Happiness" (2010). have been presented at the Venice ArchitectureBiennale.

His design work is mainly related to arts and crafts and to research and to develop communities and placesAldo Cibic is honorary professor at Tongii University, Shanghai.In 2023 he was awarded the honor of Knight of the Order of Merit of the ltalian Republicn 2023 he received the "Macnolia Siver Award" from the Shanchai municipality, in recocnition of his contribution to the city'sdevelopment and international exchanges
