Weaving is one of the oldest crafts in the world. Even before weaving was used to make fabric, the practice of interweaving plants and branches was used to make baskets, sheds and fences. This technique has been skilfully applied to rugs through the understanding and study of the traditional forms of weaving and thedetails of making this craft. By using different shades of fibres and yarns, the combination of familiar weaving methods with unexpected materials adds depthand complexity, creating two different heights of texture.
