Lu Xinjian was born in Jiangsu Province, China in 1977, and graduated from the digital graphics design of Nanjing Academy of Fine Arts in 2000. During 2004 to 2005, Lu Xinjian studied at the Graduate College of Einhofen School of Design in the Netherlands. In 2006, he graduated from the Dutch Frank Mohr Institute's interactive media and environmental majors and obtained a master's degree in art.

Affected by the background of his own graphic design and his previous design work, artist Lu Xinjian brought his unique insights in lines, shapes and colors to his artistic creation. When he transferred his creative focus to the field of pure art, these elements naturally occupied an important position in his artistic works. Lu Xinjian's works perfectly combine the elements and concepts of abstract expression and concepts. Visually, the expression of the abstraction of the work seems to be composed of random lines, shapes, and color. However, the concept behind the work is rich, clear and solid.
