We've cultivated 'lawns' within Zhang Yimou's latest theater

Moss, trees, forests, lush green fields...

As people take several steps forward, the world suddenly unfolds into a vast expanse of luminous beauty. It was as though people had stepped into an Eastern garden, devoid of any other trees, where delicate and resplendent flora graced the scene, and the ground was strewn with a profusion of fallen blossoms.

It's almost unimaginable that all of this exists within a theater.

The flourishing 'greenery' is a vibrant world meticulously crafted by FULI using vast lawn carpets,  marking the brand's premiere venture into artistic exploration in expansive public domains.

This garden-style theater is located in Jiaozuo, Henan province, the birthplace of Tai Chi, and will primarily showcase Zhang Yimou's production, 'Impression Tai Chi.' The main stage, constructed with facade green hedges and synthetic turf, seamlessly blends with the interior area covered by FULI's lawn carpets. This creates an immersive experience for the audience as if they are surrounded by a real garden scene.

To make the natural greenery appear as if it spontaneously grew within the venue, FULI designed a series of large lawn carpets in various sizes, with the largest single piece covering 71.7 square meters. They interact harmoniously with synthetic grass, covering nearly 2,000 square meters, and occupying almost half of the theater's overall indoor space.

These lawn carpets are crafted from 100% pure New Zealand wool, devoid of any silk, polyester, or other blended materials, and they all meet a B1 rating, the highest fire safety standard.

On these expansive carpets, not a single pattern repeats; every detail, is a masterpiece meticulously crafted by FULI designers, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the myriad splendors of the natural world.

If Zhang Yimou's 'Impression Tai Chi' aims to enable audiences worldwide to authentically feel the harmonious fusion of Yin and Yang, the unity of square and round, and the equilibrium in the realm of Tai Chi, FULI's endeavor this time is to explore the synergy between carpet craftsmanship and artistic expression in a public space. As visitors wander through the enchanting forest in this theater, they can touch, walk on, and perceive the green carpet beneath their feet. We cordially invite you to experience this harmonious union with nature in person!
